My Story

Headshot.jpg

I'm Ash Rogers - a life coach, musician and artist developer.

My path to becoming those things wasn't something that I planned. They are more like roles that I fell into on my journey.

I grew up anxious, struggling with confidence and deeply insecure. I didn’t know how to express myself, and I was jealous of the people who could – especially when it came to dating and social stuff. I let my emotions get the best of me and lost control of them countless times. I felt stuck and frustrated, and I had no idea how to change.

In my mid-twenties, everything seemed to fall apart. I injured my back badly, and it changed my life in more ways than one. Exercise had always been my outlet, a way to channel my feelings, and suddenly that was gone.

Around the same time, I went through a brutal heartbreak. I completely spiralled out of control. The pain wasn’t just physical anymore; it was emotional, mental, and spiritual. During that time, I relied on codeine more than I should have, and I built beliefs about the world that kept me safe but unfulfilled. I stayed stuck in them for a while.

Eventually, I returned to Wales and spent six months reflecting. It was one of the hardest but most important periods of my life. I started peeling back the layers and looking at who I really was beneath all the pain. During that time, I saw a psychic (something I wouldn’t normally do), and she told me she saw me working with people all over the world. That moment planted a seed. For the first time in a long time, I felt like there might be something meaningful ahead of me.

I moved to Brighton in England and started working as a mental health support worker. I realised how much I enjoyed helping people – especially in their time of need. When I moved back to New Zealand, I continued that work in the community. Eventually, I joined Momenta and became an accredited life coach. Since then, I’ve worked with countless clients, helping them reconnect with who they truly are. It felt natural. I didn’t have to pretend to be anything. I just brought everything I’d learned from my own experience and used it to help others grow.

About
Business Cards.png

Now, ten years on, the back pain and heartbreak that nearly broke me have become the foundation I stand on. The injury didn’t just teach me about my body; it taught me about resilience. The heartbreak didn’t just close a chapter; it opened a new one. Through it all, I learned that healing isn’t just physical. It’s mental. It’s emotional. It’s about changing the story you tell yourself.

Today, I help people build confidence, improve their social skills and reconnect with their purpose – whether they’re navigating life changes or trying to make something real out of their creative passions. I don’t believe in quick fixes. I believe in growth, service, and showing up for people in a way that’s real.

If you’ve read this far, maybe something in my story connects with yours. If so, I’d love to hear from you. And if you’re wondering what this kind of work can look like in practice, here’s what some of my clients have said about their experience.

I had an incredible session with Ash and I’m truly grateful I connected with him. He was thoughtful, inquisitive and deeply supportive as I opened up about my fears around social anxiety and stepping out of my comfort zone in a new place (Puerto Rico). His insights were on point, his guidance practical and his energy, both caring and professional. I left the session with real action steps and a sense of clarity and encouragement. Ash is someone I’d absolutely work with again for ongoing growth and support. Highly recommend him to anyone seeking meaningful personal progress.

Working with Ash has been a really positive experience for me. One thing I appreciated right away was how understanding and non-judgmental he was. He has this calm demeanour about him and that makes you feel like you can completely honest with yourself.

In our sessions, Ash didn’t just talk at me; he gave me space to speak and reflect, which is something I hadn’t experienced in other services.

Before we started, I struggled with self-control, especially getting off devices and starting new projects. Since working together, I’ve become more mindful and accountable, especially when it comes to making (or avoiding making) decisions.

If you're thinking of working with Ash, I’d say go in with an open mind. He's going to help you see stuff about yourself that is hiding in plain site.

Before working with Ash, I was in a solid place overall, but I lacked a structured way to measure my growth and focus my energy on what really mattered, like building meaningful relationships. Ash helped me gain clarity, especially around how my daily efforts contribute to a bigger purpose. His coaching reignited my sense of direction and reminded me of the broader impact I have on my community.

As a visual learner, I found his tools, like the Wheel of Life, especially powerful. They made it easy to see where I was and where I wanted to go. I also began to notice how everyday activities, can enrich multiple areas of life at once.

What sets Ash apart is his ability to uncover value in the things we often overlook. He understands the immigrant experience and brings a deep sense of empathy, balance and lived wisdom to his coaching. If you are looking for someone who can help you grow with clarity, creativity and heart, Ash is your guy.

Before working with Ash, I was stuck in the past, overwhelmed by anxiety and struggling to move on from a long-term relationship. I felt directionless, unmotivated and constantly hard on myself. Since our sessions, I’ve let go of past regrets, gained clarity and developed far better emotional control. I feel more focused, more motivated and kinder to myself.

What helped the most was simply talking things through in a calm, rational way. Ash breaks things down, gives practical actions and holds space without judgement. I’ve learned to manage stress better, understand my emotions and focus on what’s actually in my control.

Ash is friendly, welcoming, and always prepared. He listens deeply and asks great questions that really make you think. I’d absolutely recommend working with him.
